To:
President Barack Obama

March 1, 2010

We are a proud nation and we welcome all people no matter of their faith or beliefs. BUT WE ARE A NATION FOUNDED UNDER GOD! Since you were elected to represent ALL of our citizens, you need to at least speak for the MAJORITY.

President Barack Obama said in Turkey:

"We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation

Or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation.

We consider ourselves a nation of citizens

Who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

I found this very interesting...Do you know the preamble for your state?

American History Quotes About God and the Bible

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

Famous American History Quotes About God and the Bible

America has always been one nation under God. Unfortunately, some are trying to rewrite American history and our laws and contradict our Christian nation, removing God's blessing. Christians are the largest group in America (80%) and our nation's source of unity. Below are some of the thousands of quotes endorsing God in government by our founding fathers and others in American history. We hope these famous inspirational quotes on God and American government encourage you to know the truth of American history.

The truth is America has always believed: in God we trust. And today, we declare America is a Christian nation - One Nation under God. American children prayed and read the Bible in schools for hundreds of years from the colonies until recently, Congress appropriated money to buy Bibles for America and support Christian missionaries, the third verse of our national anthem says, "And this be our motto, 'In God is our trust'"

After seeing the faith in God and government endorsement of Christianity in America below, look at these two links:

Frank Sinatra Blue Moon "Happy New Year"

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in over a decade, New Year's Eve revelry, from early- evening snowshoe hikes to midnight fireworks, will take place by the light of a blue moon.

Savor the moment, astronomers say, because the phenomenon in which two full moons occur in the same month won't happen again in December until 2028.

"I encourage people to look up, enjoy the sight and think about all the interesting things that have happened" over the past decade, said Robert Stencel, professor of astronomy at the University of Denver, where public astronomy events are often held at the Chamberlin Observatory. " And be happy that we're still here to observe it."

I've heard the expression "once in a blue moon" all my life, and knew it was referring to "a long time", but I never thought about the term's origin. Today, my 90 year old father-in-law asked me if I knew what made a moon a "blue moon". I didn't know, and since we start the new year off in a "blue moon", I did some research. Interesting...very interesting.According to the popular definition, it is the second Full Moon to occur in a single calendar month.

The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days. This makes it very unlikely that any given month will contain two Full Moons, though it does sometimes happen.

On average, there will be 41 months that have two Full Moons in every century, so you could say that once in a Blue Moon actually means once every two-and-a-half years.

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in almost twenty years, there's going to be a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve.Most months have only one full Moon. The 29.5-day cadence of the lunar cycle matches up almost perfectly with the 28- to 31-day length of calendar months. Indeed, the word "month" comes from "Moon." Occasionally, however, the one-to-one correspondence breaks down when two full Moons squeeze into a single month. Dec. 2009 is such a month. The first full Moon appeared on Dec. 2nd; the second, a "Blue Moon," will come on Dec. 31st.

This definition of Blue Moon is relatively new.

If you told a person in Shakespeare's day that something happens "once in a Blue Moon" they would attach no astronomical meaning to the statement. Blue moon simply meant rare or absurd, like making a date for the Twelfth of Never. "But meaning is a slippery substance," says Hiscock. "The phrase 'Blue Moon' has been around for more than 400 years, and during that time its meaning has shifted."

The modern definition sprang up in the 1940s. In those days, the Farmer's Almanac of Maine offered a definition of Blue Moon so convoluted that even professional astronomers struggled to understand it. It involved factors such as the ecclesiastical dates of Easter and Lent, and the timing of seasons according to the dynamical mean sun. Aiming to explain blue moons to the layman, Sky & Telescope published an article in 1946 entitled "Once in a Blue Moon." The author James Hugh Pruett cited the 1937 Maine almanac and opined that the "second [full moon] in a month, so I interpret it, is called Blue Moon."

That was not correct, but at least it could be understood. And thus the modern Blue Moon was born.

"IF TOMMORROW NEVER COME"

"IF TOMMORROW NEVER COMES" If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would videotape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming, you would know I do.If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right. There will always be another day to say our "I love you's", And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget, Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight. So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear, Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay". And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.

"Somewhere in Time", we'll shareone love, one life. And with each gentile touchi knowthis much, its true. And when we kiss,i see forever, and in your arms,im lost, you find me again. No words, no writes, describe this pain inside,no matter how hard i tried,i die inside,to let you go,To say goodbyemy heart breaks foreversomewhere in time, i knowwe'll meet againYou're in my heartYou're in my souland if you go away from mei cant let go.Until begin,i know,we'll meet againSomewhere in time.

"
Two Wolves - Cherokee Words of Wisdom" , An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life... "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. "One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego. "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. "This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old chief simply replied, "The one you feed."

Reasons You Don't Find Love And Money

Reasons You Don't Find Love And Money

By Tony Teegarden"

The best way to find "love", James, which, incidentally, is just as true for finding money, is to focus less on these by-products of a life well lived and more on a life well lived. -TuT quote

Hmm I hope you read that two or three times like I did. What a smack of reality.

Ask yourself...Are you only focused on finding that perfect partner?

Are you only focused on that new car?

Are you only focused on that new suit?

Are you only focused on that next credit card bill due?

A friend of mine the other day said that she was dating someone that she was quite fond of and was very happy with him. She said that it seemed such a thing happened when she wasn't even looking for it.

How many times have you heard someone say that and you said..."Why can't that happen to me?" Or, for those of you that are married, have you ever seen someone get a new car, new home etc...and you said to yourself the same thing?

Probably because you were trying too hard. You were focused on the by-products of a life well lived instead of a life well lived.

She was focused only on a life well lived rather than the results of it and is reaping the rewards in a happy relationship. (I know the types of books she reads and the company she holds so it doesn't surprise me.)

Imagine if we were mentally engaged in our home based business or network marketing business the same way?

Could you focus simply on your exposures, lead calls, follow ups, your personal development and keeping your commitments to your companies process?

If that was the case you would end up with the by-products in a matter of time.

Now I know what it means to keep the main thing the main thing. When you do, you end up with all the by-products you could ever want with out focusing ALL of your attention on them.

More importantly with the above attitude you don't cary any attachments to those by-products. They are free to come and go with out you being emotionally attached to them. This could be a whole new blog post unto itself.

Now, I can already hear someone saying, as they read this, "Tony, are you saying that I should not be focused on what I want? What about the law of attraction and visualization and dream boards!"

If you have read the Attractor Factor or read into The Secret, yes you do want to know what your by-products are. But these systems also state that you are to picture them, get clear on them, then allow the universe to take over as you take the sustained action.

A lot of times the by-products show up in your life in such a way that you could never predict. Just trust that they will. Don't ask how.

I just see people try too hard and never get past the "I want..." stage. They say they want but never really take action or if they do it's not consistent action towards their by-products.Most just simply give up too early.

There has to be sustained action taken and you have to put emotion and passion into it. Which isn't hard when you know why you're doing it.

So when you know that by-products are not your key to happiness and that it's the pursuit of the by-products that lends to your fulfillment, what do you do next?

You simply live your life well, with character, honor and respect. These are the products I choose to focus on.To serve, to love and to commit to my life's vision.

Everything else is a by-product.It's when the heart is already filled with joy that we can bring joy to others lives. Now that's a by-product that I bet you can't find on a dream board.

Support T. Boone Pickens' Energy Independence!

Hey Army,

So am I.

We've got less than three weeks until a new Congress is seated and our new President is sworn in. But before we muster the troops and charge up Capitol Hill, I want to share an experience of mine that not only changed how I do business but how I look at life.

Forty years ago, the small company I founded was looking at a big deal. In fact it was our biggest deal ever. That's when a friend of mine, Dow Hamm, gave me a piece of advice I've never forgotten: "Boone, you'll spend just as much time on a big deal as on a little deal." And, he pointed out, you'll find plenty of lagniappe in a big deal.

What's lagniappe? I'll tell you what it is. When we get America to end its addiction to foreign oil, new jobs will be created in new industries we can't even begin to imagine. When we stop sending $700 billion a year to foreign countries and start spending that money on energy produced here in the United States, start-ups that none of us have ever heard of will get the seed capital they need to get off the ground and become industry giants. When we go all out and develop wind and solar and other renewable energies, the breakthroughs that American companies will pioneer are going to have other countries sending us billions of dollars for our technology, for our equipment, and for our know-how.

Over the last 50 years, I've done more than my share of big deals. But this one here with you, the Pickens Plan, is by far the biggest. And it's going to pay off bigger than any of us can ever imagine.

That's what lagniappe is. Now let's go get plenty of it in 2009.

-Boone

P.S. We’re closing in on 1.4 million in the Army. Let’s get to 2 million by Inauguration Day. Please Click Here and invite a friend or family member to join us as we march on Washington next year.

As 2008 comes to a close, the Divided We Fail team has been reflecting on the past year. It's astounding to realize how far we've come -- but with one year ending, another begins, and our work to bring affordable health care and long-term economic security to all Americans is entering a new stage.

In the past year, we united over 1.6 million people pledging to fight for health care reform and long-term economic security for all Americans. We made our voice heard in the halls of Congress, where over 2/3 of our representatives have now pledged to reach across the aisle and deliver meaningful action for the American people. And we spread our message to every corner of the nation.

It wouldn't have been possible without the thousands of faithful activists and supporters like you who attended debates, collected pledge cards, spoke out online, and reached out to family and friends.

Now it's time to turn our eyes to the future -- and with 2008 coming to a close, it is time for everyone to make a New Year's resolution. Will you make a resolution to hold our leaders to their promises and support Divided We Fail in the 2009?"

I resolve..."• "...to tell President-Elect Obama to keep his promises on health care and financial security when he becomes president." GO >>• "

... to tell my friends, family, and colleagues to join Divided We Fail this year." GO >>• "

...to stay engaged and active our fight for bipartisan action on health care and long-term financial security."

The Divided We Fail Team has already settled on our resolution: continuing our call for an end to the bickering, and a start to real solutions for the American people. The first step? On January 13th, we'll be taking signed pledges to Capitol Hill to remind Congress that millions of Americans have signed on to our campaign -- and are ready to hold them accountable if they fail to act.

And for the next 12 months, we'll be increasing our grassroots activity: hosting events across the country, taking to the airwaves again, signing up more volunteers, and growing even more active than before.

Divided We Fail's diverse coalition of members will be the umbrella under which our leaders can come together and hammer out the solutions to our nation's crises. We hope you'll continue to stand with us.Thank you for all your work and support, The Divided We Fail Team

P. S. This ad from Divided We Fail tells President-Elect Barack Obama that we're ready to help support him as he addresses the critical issues of health care and financial security. Join the Divided We Fail Movement!

As a new year begins, many Americans are reflecting on 2008 while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities we’ll face in 2009.

The past year brought change to our country. Millions of Americans participated in our political process for the first time. Folks came together to work for common goals, and the bonds of citizenship grew stronger in cities and towns across the country.

But alongside these accomplishments, many Americans also faced tremendous economic hardship.

Too many families are dealing with the strain and loss stemming from this financial crisis. In 2009, our nation must come together to forge solutions to the challenges we face.

P. S. Check out the Open for Questions Feature Here. We’ll close this round of questions and put together our responses in the new year.

Boone here,

We’re six weeks out, and it feels like Inauguration Day is right around the corner. One thing’s for sure: our efforts are really starting to pay off. Let me give you a couple of examples.

Yesterday in New York City the Pickens Plan got another big endorsement. This time it was from the American Lung Association. Think about that. Here we’ve been talking about how developing renewable energies and using cleaner burning natural gas is good for our economy and creates jobs. Come to find out the Pickens Plan is good for your health! I love it. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was also on hand. He’s been a real leader in using renewables and compressed natural gas in his city. I’m glad to have him on our team.

I also want to bring up my visit to Washington last week where I met with the Obama Transition Team. Like everyone else, I’ve been impressed with the way the President-elect has been preparing for his new administration. My father used to tell me, “A fool with a plan can outsmart a genius with no plan any day of the week.” Let me tell you: the Obama team is smart, and they have a plan. The President-elect wants to get us off Middle Eastern oil in 10 years. There’s only one way he can do that, which is why I’m confident that the Pickens Plan will play an important part in the stimulus package he and his team are crafting right now.

I know President-elect Obama is ready to make some big changes. Let’s make sure Congress is too. The Army is 1.37 million strong. Now we need to get ready in every Congressional district, and I need your help.

Over the next couple days you'll be hearing from Team Pickens about the District Leaders project - I need members of the Army to play a leadership role in their own Congressional districts. Click here to learn more and to sign up to volunteer.

I want you to join me in leading the New Energy Army as we take the Pickens Plan to DC next year!

Exactly one month ago, you made history by giving all Americans a real opportunity for change.

Now it's time to start preparing and working for change in our communities. On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together in every part of the country to reflect on what we've accomplished and plan the future of this movement. Your ideas and feedback will be collected and used to guide this movement in the months and years ahead.

Join your friends and neighbors -- sign up to host or attend a Change is Coming house meeting near you.

Since the election, the challenges we face -- and our responsibility to take action -- have only gotten more urgent.

You can connect with fellow supporters, make progress on the issues you care about, and help shape the future of your community and our country.

Learn what you can do now to support President-elect Obama's agenda for change and continue to make a difference in your community.

+ + Will The Fairness Doctrine Silence The Conservative Voice? Will 2009 usher in a fanatical push to re-instate the so-called Fairness Doctrine? Such a move would effectively silence the conservative voice and remove the last conservative stronghold against a fast-moving liberal agenda.

James & Lydia, One need only read the words of Dianne Feinstein to see the true threat to conservative speech that is brewing on the horizon!"

Talk radio tends to be one-sided. It also tends to be dwelling in hyperbole. It's explosive. It pushes people to, I think, extreme views without a lot of information ... I'm looking at the [Fairness Doctrine]... Unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way."

Recognizing this threat, the Media Research Center has created the Free Speech Alliance which is a coalition of organizations and citizens strongly opposed to any such move to limit or undermine our Free Speech Rights!

WE WILL ROCK YOU - OBAMA'S PLAN FOR AMERICA?

WE WILL ROCK YOU!

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE!

WE WILL ROCK YOU!

The voters have spoken, but I dont believe this was a mandate for the Democrats. It was a mandate for Obamas promises of cooperation and bipartisanship, of treating each other with respect and dignity. It was a vote for the hope of a Washington that functions for the good of the American people.

Can Obama lead America to that reality, as he has promised? Time will tell. But, as Obama has said, getting there requires all Americans. Its not something he can do by himself. Its a challenge to all of us to work together so our nation can see better days.

Thank you for taking the time to lookat this booklet. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden’s Plan for America

Economy Obama's Stance on the Economy Barack Obama has offered a detailed plan to get America’s economy back on track, by creating new jobs and easing the burden on hardworking Americans by offering middle-class tax cuts three times the size of McCain’s. Learn More

McCain's Stance on the Economy John McCain’s economic policy is the same as George Bush’s. It ignores middle class Americans, giving $200 billion in tax cuts to corporations, including $4 billion in tax breaks to Big Oil, while leaving over 100 million middle-class Americans with no relief. Economists say McCain’s plan will add $3.4 trillion to the national debt.

Education Obama's Stance on Education Barack Obama puts children first by investing in early childhood education, making sure our schools are adequately funded and led by high-quality teachers, and reforming No Child Left Behind. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Education John McCain supported George Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans instead of much-needed funding for our students, teachers, and failing local classrooms.

Energy & Environment Obama's Stance on Energy Barack Obama will invest in alternative fuels and renewable energy, including a plan to increase America’s energy efficiency and create 5 million new “green” jobs. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Energy John McCain has repeatedly opposed renewable and alternative energy proposals, has promised oil companies a new $4 billion tax break and hired a number of powerful oil lobbyists to run his campaign.

Ethics Obama's Stance on Ethics Barack Obama has been a leader on government transparency – refusing to take donations from lobbyists or PACs, improving disclosure and creating a database where the public can track federal contracts and earmarks. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Ethics John McCain has no less than 177 lobbyists working on his campaign, including many of his top advisors. McCain’s own campaign manager continued to receive money from Freddie Mac until August 2008.

Foreign Policy Obama's Stance on Foreign Policy Barack Obama will continue the long American tradition of smart diplomacy to keep the country safe while improving America’s standing in the world. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Foreign Policy John McCain will carry on George Bush’s policy of unilateral action that puts American troops in harm’s way without exhausting diplomatic options.

Health Care Obama's Stance on Health Care Barack Obama’s health care plan will provide accessible, affordable coverage for all, and it will reduce health care costs for families. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Health Care John McCain’s health plan would tax health benefits for the first time ever — imposing a trillion tax increase on working families and leaving millions without heath care.

Homeland Security Obama's Stance on Homeland Security Barack Obama supports increased security measures for our airports, ports, and land borders, part of a national plan to protect American’s infrastructure and keep our communities safe. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Homeland Security John McCain opposed increased screening of cargo entering the United States and opposed increased security for airport, port and boarder security.

Iraq Obama's Stance on Iraq Barack Obama will work with his military commanders to responsibly end the war in Iraq. Obama will refocus our resources on al Qaeda in Afghanistan and finish the fight with the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Iraq John McCain has no plan to end the war in Iraq, and would keep spending $10 billion a month in Iraq while the Iraqi government sits on a huge surplus. McCain calls Iraq "the central front of the war on terror" even though Osama bin Laden and the al Qaeda terrorists who attacked us are getting stronger in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Seniors & Social Security Obama's Stance on Seniors & Social Security Barack Obama is committed to ensuring Social Security is protected and viable for this generation and the next. And Obama will eliminate income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000 -- benefiting more than 7 million seniors. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Seniors & Social Security John McCain supports President Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security and would gamble the Social Security Trust Fund in the stock market. McCain’s tax plan leaves 37 million seniors without much-needed relief.

Taxes Obama's Stance on Taxes Barack Obama provides a middle class tax cut for 95 percent of American workers. Middle class families will get three times the tax relief from Obama than they would from John McCain. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Taxes John McCain’s plan leaves 101 million American households with no tax relief, while giving $200 billion to corporations, including $4 billion tax cut to oil companies.

Veterans Obama's Stance on Veterans Affairs Barack Obama supports our troops – both in combat and at home. He voted to provide armored vehicles and body armor for our troops fighting abroad, and will fully fund veterans’ medical care and restore competence to VA planning to ensure our veterans have the resources they need when they return home. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Veterans Affairs John McCain has repeatedly voted against increases in veterans’ health care, against mental health and brain injury services for veterans, and will ration veterans’ health care to vets with combat injuries, reducing the resources available to our vets.

Women Obama's Stance on Women's Issues Barack Obama works for America’s women – supporting a woman’s right to choose, equal pay for equal work, expanding the childcare tax credit and paid sick leave for parents. Learn More

McCain's Stance on Women's Issues John McCain wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and his party’s platform opposes all abortions — even in cases of rape and incest. McCain also opposed the Equal Pay Act, and the landmark Violence Against Women Act.

Senator Obama has been able to develop innovative approaches to challenge the status quo and get results. Americans are tired of divisive ideological politics, which is why Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans to find areas of common ground. He has tried to break partisan logjams and take on seemingly intractable problems. During his tenure in Washington and in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama has accumulated a record of bipartisan success.

Civil Rights There is no more fundamental American right than the right to vote. Before the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act, barriers such as literacy tests, poll taxes and property requirements disenfranchised many Americans, especially minorities. More than 40 years later, there are still numerous obstacles to ensuring that every citizen has the ability to vote. CONTINUE READING

Defense "Our country's greatest military asset is the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States. When we do send our men and women into harm's way, we must also clearly define the mission, prescribe concrete political and military objectives, seek out advice of our military commanders, evaluate the intelligence, plan accordingly, and ensure that our troops have the resources, support, and equipment they need to protect themselves and fulfill their mission." -Barack Obama, Chicago Foreign Affairs Council, April 23, 2007 CONTINUE READING

Disabilities "We must build a world free of unnecessary barriers, stereotypes, and discrimination .... policies must be developed, attitudes must be shaped, and buildings and organizations must be designed to ensure that everyone has a chance to get the education they need and live independently as full citizens in their communities." Faith In June of 2006, Senator Obama delivered what was called the most important speech on religion and politics in 40 years. Speaking before an evangelical audience, Senator Obama candidly discussed his own religious conversion and doubts, and the need for a deeper, more substantive discussion about the role of faith in American life. Family Strong families raise successful children and keep communities together. While Senator Obama does not believe that we can simply legislate healthy families, good parenting skills or economic success, he does believe we can eliminate roadblocks that parents face and provide tools to help them succeed. Fiscal "The cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and states of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on ... If Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we'd see an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal policies." - Barack Obama, Speech in the U.S. Senate, March 13, 2006 CONTINUE READING

Immigration Barack Obama has played a leading role in crafting comprehensive immigration reform. Obama believes the immigration issue has been exploited by politicians to divide the nation rather than find real solutions. This divisiveness has allowed the illegal immigration problem to worsen, with borders that are less secure than ever and an economy that depends on millions of workers living in the shadows. Poverty There are 37 million poor Americans. Most poor Americans are in the workforce, yet still cannot afford to make ends meet. And too many poor Americans are single mothers who are raising children. Barack Obama has been a lifelong advocate for the poor -- as a young college graduate, he rejected the high salaries of corporate America and moved to the South Side of Chicago to work as a community organizer. As an organizer, Obama worked with churches, Chicago residents and local government to set up job training programs for the unemployed and after school programs for kids. CONTINUE READING

Rural "We are at that critical and urgent moment. If Washington continues policies that work against America's family farmers, our rural communities will fall further behind - and so will America. But if we reject the politics that has shut ordinary folks out, we can create a new story for rural America ... The dreams of rural Americans are familiar to all Americans - to make a good living, to raise a healthy and secure family, and to leave our children a future of opportunity. It's time for real leadership for rural America to extend that American dream. That's the dream of opportunity that I've spent my life fighting for. And that's what our rural agenda will do." - Barack Obama, Speech in Fairfax, IA, October 16, 2007 CONTINUE READING

Service "Your own story and the American story are not separate - they are shared. And they will both be enriched if we stand up together, and answer a new call to service to meet the challenges of our new century ... I won't just ask for your vote as a candidate; I will ask for your service and your active citizenship when I am president of the United States. This will not be a call issued in one speech or program; this will be a cause of my presidency." - Barack Obama, Speech in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, December 5, 2007 CONTINUE READING

Technology "Let us be the generation that reshapes our economy to compete in the digital age. Let's set high standards for our schools and give them the resources they need to succeed. Let's recruit a new army of teachers, and give them better pay and more support in exchange for more accountability. Let's make college more affordable, and let's invest in scientific research, and let's lay down broadband lines through the heart of inner cities and rural towns all across America." BLUEPRINT FOR CHANGE: A MESSAGE FROM BARACK AND JOE

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden’s Plan for America

Thank you for taking the time to lookat this booklet.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE!

CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

ALL-STAR TRAVEL

We believe that leaders must be open and forward-looking with the American people about the policy decisions facing our nation.

This booklet brings together our proposals to support American families so you can see clearly where we stand on these fundamental issues. But we also hope that this booklet sparks a dialogue and that after you’ve finished reading it, you get in touch with our campaign and give us your thoughts on the policies you find here.

You can take your government back into your hands, and we welcome you to speak up. You know what’s at stake in this election when you kiss a loved one goodbye as they’re deploying overseas, or see your neighbor’s home foreclosed on, or fill up the tank. This is a defining moment in our history.

The dream that so many generations fought for feels as if it’s slowly slipping away. We’ve never paid more for health care or child care or college. It’s harder to save and retire. And most of all, we’ve lost faith that our leaders can or will do anything about it. But it is because of their failures that this moment of challenge is also a moment of opportunity. We have a chance to bring the country together in a new majority — to finally tackle problems that Washington has ignored for too long.

And that is why the same old Washington textbook campaigns just won’t do in this election. Our leaders have always made the biggest difference in the lives of the American people when we’ve led not by polls, but by principle; not by calculation, but by conviction; when we summoned the entire nation to a common purpose — a higher purpose. And we are here because that’s the party America needs us to be right now.

Joe and I are running to offer this country change that we need.We are in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. We’re in this race because we want to stop talking about the outrage of 45 million Americans without health care and start actually doing something about it. We’re in this race to end our dependence on Middle East oil and save our planet from the crisis of climate change so we can give our children a planet that’s cleaner and safer than we found it.

This country of ours has more wealth than any nation, but that’s not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military on Earth, but that’s not what makes us strong. Our universities and our culture are the envy of the world, but that’s not what keeps the world coming to our shores. Instead, it is that American spirit — that American promise — that pushes us forward even when the path is uncertain; that binds us together in spite of our differences; that makes us fix our eye not on what is seen, but what is unseen, that better place around the bend.

As president, we will end the war in Iraq, a war that I opposed from the beginning and that should never have been authorized. We will finish the fight against Al Qaeda. And we will lead the world to combat the common threats of the 21st century — nuclear weapons and terrorism; climate change and poverty; genocide and disease.

America, our moment is now. We don’t want to pit Red America against Blue America, I want to be the President of the United States of America.

That’s why we’re asking you to stand with us, that’s why we’re asking you to stop settling for what the cynics say we have to accept. In this election — in this moment — let us reach for what we know is possible.

A nation healed. A world repaired. An America that believes again. So thank you for taking the time to read this booklet, which lays out very clearly how Joe and I will achieve these goals for the American people. I hope you look closely at the ideas in this booklet and let us know what you think.

Together, we can change America.

Sincerely,

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden
