Frank Sinatra Blue Moon "Happy New Year"

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in over a decade, New Year's Eve revelry, from early- evening snowshoe hikes to midnight fireworks, will take place by the light of a blue moon.

Savor the moment, astronomers say, because the phenomenon in which two full moons occur in the same month won't happen again in December until 2028.

"I encourage people to look up, enjoy the sight and think about all the interesting things that have happened" over the past decade, said Robert Stencel, professor of astronomy at the University of Denver, where public astronomy events are often held at the Chamberlin Observatory. " And be happy that we're still here to observe it."

I've heard the expression "once in a blue moon" all my life, and knew it was referring to "a long time", but I never thought about the term's origin. Today, my 90 year old father-in-law asked me if I knew what made a moon a "blue moon". I didn't know, and since we start the new year off in a "blue moon", I did some research. Interesting...very interesting.According to the popular definition, it is the second Full Moon to occur in a single calendar month.

The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days. This makes it very unlikely that any given month will contain two Full Moons, though it does sometimes happen.

On average, there will be 41 months that have two Full Moons in every century, so you could say that once in a Blue Moon actually means once every two-and-a-half years.

Blue Moon on New Year's Eve

For the first time in almost twenty years, there's going to be a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve.Most months have only one full Moon. The 29.5-day cadence of the lunar cycle matches up almost perfectly with the 28- to 31-day length of calendar months. Indeed, the word "month" comes from "Moon." Occasionally, however, the one-to-one correspondence breaks down when two full Moons squeeze into a single month. Dec. 2009 is such a month. The first full Moon appeared on Dec. 2nd; the second, a "Blue Moon," will come on Dec. 31st.

This definition of Blue Moon is relatively new.

If you told a person in Shakespeare's day that something happens "once in a Blue Moon" they would attach no astronomical meaning to the statement. Blue moon simply meant rare or absurd, like making a date for the Twelfth of Never. "But meaning is a slippery substance," says Hiscock. "The phrase 'Blue Moon' has been around for more than 400 years, and during that time its meaning has shifted."

The modern definition sprang up in the 1940s. In those days, the Farmer's Almanac of Maine offered a definition of Blue Moon so convoluted that even professional astronomers struggled to understand it. It involved factors such as the ecclesiastical dates of Easter and Lent, and the timing of seasons according to the dynamical mean sun. Aiming to explain blue moons to the layman, Sky & Telescope published an article in 1946 entitled "Once in a Blue Moon." The author James Hugh Pruett cited the 1937 Maine almanac and opined that the "second [full moon] in a month, so I interpret it, is called Blue Moon."

That was not correct, but at least it could be understood. And thus the modern Blue Moon was born.

S.A.F.E. Energy Fencing System

This unique invention combines the functionality of a perimeter fencing system with a unique solar panel system built right into the fence’s upper shell. As the sun rises and sets, the solar panels in the fence collect the sun’s rays and transforms them into free, clean, renewable energy which is then inverted into the electric meter of the home or office building. This system reduces the electric bill and helps eliminate the public’s dependence on carbon based fuels.

A fence that protects your property, the environment, and your wallet!

New Jersey – EarthSure, a renewable energy company and innovator in alternative energy sources announces the latest patent-pending renewable energy invention. Solar Alternative Functioning Energy (S.A.F.E.) Fencing System, is an earth-friendly fencing configuration made out of recycled PVC that not only protects the owner’s property, it also collects the sun’s rays and transforms them into renewable energy!

This unique invention combines the functionality of a perimeter fencing system with a unique solar panel system built inside to conceal the inner walls of the fence. As the sun rises, the sunlight is collected by a series of optical lenses that transmit the light to solar panels which is then transformed into free, clean, renewable energy. This is then inverted into the electric meter of the home, office, or commercial building. This system reduces the electric bill and helps eliminate the public’s dependence on carbon based fuels.

Manufacturers of the S.A.F.E. fence say that the cost of the fence and installation in time will pay for itself. It is the only fence of its kind to offer a return on investment by saving money on the owner’s electric bill. As an added bonus, the purchase and installation can be subsidized by the government anywhere from 30% and up to 50% in some states. Solar energy users can also receive RECs (renewable energy credits) based on how much energy it produces at that location.

Another benefit of the system is that, unlike bulky and unsightly solar panels, this solar energy fencing system is an attractive unit, one that adds beauty and protection to the property, all while reducing our carbon footprint by creating clean, green energy. Earthsure predicts that with all of the benefits of this new fencing system including the look and functionality as well as the earth-saving benefits will convince the public to protect their property and the world with S.A.F.E. Fencing System.

About Earth-Sure:

Support T. Boone Pickens' Energy Independence!

Hey Army,

So am I.

We've got less than three weeks until a new Congress is seated and our new President is sworn in. But before we muster the troops and charge up Capitol Hill, I want to share an experience of mine that not only changed how I do business but how I look at life.

Forty years ago, the small company I founded was looking at a big deal. In fact it was our biggest deal ever. That's when a friend of mine, Dow Hamm, gave me a piece of advice I've never forgotten: "Boone, you'll spend just as much time on a big deal as on a little deal." And, he pointed out, you'll find plenty of lagniappe in a big deal.

What's lagniappe? I'll tell you what it is. When we get America to end its addiction to foreign oil, new jobs will be created in new industries we can't even begin to imagine. When we stop sending $700 billion a year to foreign countries and start spending that money on energy produced here in the United States, start-ups that none of us have ever heard of will get the seed capital they need to get off the ground and become industry giants. When we go all out and develop wind and solar and other renewable energies, the breakthroughs that American companies will pioneer are going to have other countries sending us billions of dollars for our technology, for our equipment, and for our know-how.

Over the last 50 years, I've done more than my share of big deals. But this one here with you, the Pickens Plan, is by far the biggest. And it's going to pay off bigger than any of us can ever imagine.

That's what lagniappe is. Now let's go get plenty of it in 2009.

-Boone

P.S. We’re closing in on 1.4 million in the Army. Let’s get to 2 million by Inauguration Day. Please Click Here and invite a friend or family member to join us as we march on Washington next year.

As 2008 comes to a close, the Divided We Fail team has been reflecting on the past year. It's astounding to realize how far we've come -- but with one year ending, another begins, and our work to bring affordable health care and long-term economic security to all Americans is entering a new stage.

In the past year, we united over 1.6 million people pledging to fight for health care reform and long-term economic security for all Americans. We made our voice heard in the halls of Congress, where over 2/3 of our representatives have now pledged to reach across the aisle and deliver meaningful action for the American people. And we spread our message to every corner of the nation.

It wouldn't have been possible without the thousands of faithful activists and supporters like you who attended debates, collected pledge cards, spoke out online, and reached out to family and friends.

Now it's time to turn our eyes to the future -- and with 2008 coming to a close, it is time for everyone to make a New Year's resolution. Will you make a resolution to hold our leaders to their promises and support Divided We Fail in the 2009?"

I resolve..."• "...to tell President-Elect Obama to keep his promises on health care and financial security when he becomes president." GO >>• "

... to tell my friends, family, and colleagues to join Divided We Fail this year." GO >>• "

...to stay engaged and active our fight for bipartisan action on health care and long-term financial security."

The Divided We Fail Team has already settled on our resolution: continuing our call for an end to the bickering, and a start to real solutions for the American people. The first step? On January 13th, we'll be taking signed pledges to Capitol Hill to remind Congress that millions of Americans have signed on to our campaign -- and are ready to hold them accountable if they fail to act.

And for the next 12 months, we'll be increasing our grassroots activity: hosting events across the country, taking to the airwaves again, signing up more volunteers, and growing even more active than before.

Divided We Fail's diverse coalition of members will be the umbrella under which our leaders can come together and hammer out the solutions to our nation's crises. We hope you'll continue to stand with us.Thank you for all your work and support, The Divided We Fail Team

P. S. This ad from Divided We Fail tells President-Elect Barack Obama that we're ready to help support him as he addresses the critical issues of health care and financial security. Join the Divided We Fail Movement!

As a new year begins, many Americans are reflecting on 2008 while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities we’ll face in 2009.

The past year brought change to our country. Millions of Americans participated in our political process for the first time. Folks came together to work for common goals, and the bonds of citizenship grew stronger in cities and towns across the country.

But alongside these accomplishments, many Americans also faced tremendous economic hardship.

Too many families are dealing with the strain and loss stemming from this financial crisis. In 2009, our nation must come together to forge solutions to the challenges we face.

P. S. Check out the Open for Questions Feature Here. We’ll close this round of questions and put together our responses in the new year.

From the desk of T. Boone Pickens
Boone here,

We’re six weeks out, and it feels like Inauguration Day is right around the corner. One thing’s for sure: our efforts are really starting to pay off. Let me give you a couple of examples.

Yesterday in New York City the Pickens Plan got another big endorsement. This time it was from the American Lung Association. Think about that. Here we’ve been talking about how developing renewable energies and using cleaner burning natural gas is good for our economy and creates jobs. Come to find out the Pickens Plan is good for your health! I love it. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was also on hand. He’s been a real leader in using renewables and compressed natural gas in his city. I’m glad to have him on our team.

I also want to bring up my visit to Washington last week where I met with the Obama Transition Team. Like everyone else, I’ve been impressed with the way the President-elect has been preparing for his new administration. My father used to tell me, “A fool with a plan can outsmart a genius with no plan any day of the week.” Let me tell you: the Obama team is smart, and they have a plan. The President-elect wants to get us off Middle Eastern oil in 10 years. There’s only one way he can do that, which is why I’m confident that the Pickens Plan will play an important part in the stimulus package he and his team are crafting right now.

I know President-elect Obama is ready to make some big changes. Let’s make sure Congress is too. The Army is 1.37 million strong. Now we need to get ready in every Congressional district, and I need your help.

Over the next couple days you'll be hearing from Team Pickens about the District Leaders project - I need members of the Army to play a leadership role in their own Congressional districts. Click here to learn more and to sign up to volunteer.

I want you to join me in leading the New Energy Army as we take the Pickens Plan to DC next year!

Exactly one month ago, you made history by giving all Americans a real opportunity for change.

Now it's time to start preparing and working for change in our communities. On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together in every part of the country to reflect on what we've accomplished and plan the future of this movement. Your ideas and feedback will be collected and used to guide this movement in the months and years ahead.

Join your friends and neighbors -- sign up to host or attend a Change is Coming house meeting near you.

Since the election, the challenges we face -- and our responsibility to take action -- have only gotten more urgent.

We Are in a Crisis

Our dependence on foreign oil forms the intersection of the three most critical issues America currently faces: the economy, the environment and our national security.

There is a Solution

America is blessed with the world's greatest wind power corridor and abundant reserves of clean natural gas.

The Pickens Plan will utilize these tremendous resources to build a bridge to the future — a blueprint to reduce foreign oil dependence by harnessing domestic energy alternatives and buying time for us to develop even greater new technologies.

The Plan calls for building new wind generation facilities that will produce 20% of our nation's electricity and allow us to use natural gas as a transportation fuel. The combination of these domestic energies can replace more than one-third of our foreign oil imports. And we can do it all in 10 years.
We Can Bring Change

On January 20th, 2009, a new President will take office. We’re organizing behind the Pickens Plan now to ensure our voices will be heard by the next administration. Together we can raise a call for change and set a new course for America’s energy future in the first hundred days of the new presidency — breaking the hammerlock of foreign oil and building a new domestic energy future for America with a focus on sustainability.

You can start changing America's future today by supporting the Pickens Plan. Join now.

The Man with the Plan

T. Boone Pickens, founder and chairman, BP Capital Management, is principally responsible for the formulation of the energy futures investment strategy of the BP Capital Commodity Fund and the BP Capital Equity Fund. With more than $4 billion under management, BP Capital manages one of the nation’s most successful energy-oriented investment funds. Pickens frequently utilizes his wealth of experience in the oil and gas industry in the evaluation of potential equity investments and energy sector themes. He has not been shy in predicting oil and gas prices and — more often than not — has been uncannily accurate.
Pickens is also aggressively pursuing a wide range of other business interests, from water marketing and ranch development initiatives to Clean Energy, a company he founded and is the largest shareholder. Through Mesa Water, Pickens is the largest private holder of permitted groundwater rights in the United States. Clean Energy is advancing the use of natural gas as a cleaner-burning and more cost-effective transportation fuel alternative to gasoline and diesel.

Boone grew up in Holdenville, a small eastern Oklahoma town. His father was in the oil business, and his mother ran the Office of Price Administration during World War II, rationing gasoline and other goods for four counties. Boone attributes much of his success to his mother and father.

Boone graduated as a geologist from Oklahoma State University in 1951 and started work with Phillips Petroleum Co. in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. After three and a half years, he struck out on his own as an independent geologist. Pickens was founder of Mesa Petroleum in its various forms beginning in 1956. Mr. Pickens’ career at Mesa spanned four decades. Under his leadership, Mesa grew to become one of the largest and most well known independent exploration and production companies in the United States; Mesa produced more than 3 trillion cubic feet of gas and 150 million barrels of oil from 1964 to 1996.

From its inception, Mesa was at the forefront of change and innovation. Mesa's fitness program is a good example. Boone has long understood the benefits of physical fitness. Mesa's fitness program has become a model for corporate America, and Mesa was the first company to be accredited by the Institute for Aerobics Research.

Throughout his professional life, Pickens has been a generous philanthropist, giving away almost one half of a billion dollars. In 2006, he contributed $175 million to a wide range of causes and the formation of the T. Boone Pickens Foundation. He has appeared multiple times on The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s list of top U.S. philanthropists. The T. Boone Pickens Foundation is improving lives through grants supporting educational programs, medical research, athletics and corporate wellness, at-risk youth, the entrepreneurial process, and conservation and wildlife initiatives.

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans Inc. selected Pickens as a recipient of the 2006 Horatio Alger Award, which epitomizes those who overcome adversity and humble beginnings to achieve success. It is but one of many honors awarded to Pickens for his achievements, including Trader Monthly’s 2006 Trader of the Year award, the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Pickens lives in Dallas and is married to Madeleine Ann Pickens. He has five children and 12 grandchildren.

IMPORTANT, I need your help, James Everitt. Can you help me resolve my friends concerns about the Pickens Plan and T. Boone Pickens resolve to do what he says he's going to do to help create a viable energy independence program over the next 10 years?

Where They Stand: Energy

John McCain

John McCain's energy platform is largely based around his willingless to expand domestic oil drilling and production. His plan includes increased drilling coupled with investing in clean, alternative sources of energy.McCain has announced his plan to commit a $5,000 tax credit to every consumer who purchases a zero carbon emission car.The Arizona Senator has also proposed a $300 million prize to improve battery technology for the full commercial development of plug-in hybrid and electric automobiles. He has declared the need to eliminate subsidies and tariffs that prevent the development of market-based solutions that would provide the United States with better options for alternative fuels. McCain has also pledged $2 billion annually to the advancement of clean coal technologies.

Barack Obama

Obama's plan to create five million new "green" jobs would depend upon a ten year, $150 billion investment to "catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future."Obama has pushed for one million plug-in hybrid vehicles on the road by 2015 and a target of 10 percent of all household electricity originating from renewable sources by 2012.He has also stressed the importance of providing short-term relief, offering to enact a Windfall Profits Tax that would provide a $1,000 energy rebate to American families.Obama has even announced a plan to eliminate our current imports from Venezuela and the Middle East within ten years. Obama proposes a $7,000 tax credit for purchasing advanced vehicles.

Robert Barr

On energy, Bob Barr's plan again relies on free market principles and less government intervention.Barr wants to eliminate all restrictions that slow energy production, as well as "special privileges" for alternative fuels like ethanol. He says more government involvement, whether in the form of restrictions or subsidies, ends up hurting consumers in the long run.According to his Web page, he also wants to allow drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge and the Outer Continental Shelf to "assure more adequate and consistent supplies," and help lower the cost for consumers. While in Congress, Barr voted in favor of drilling and development in ANWR. He also voted against raising corporate average fuel efficiency standards for automobiles and offering incentives for manufacturing alternative fuel vehicles.Barr co-sponsored a bill that would have repealed an increase in the federal gas tax.In the campaign, he has turned up the heat on John McCain, saying that he hasn't done enough to promote more domestic drilling. As early as July, on the "Glenn Beck show" Barr called global warming a "myth" being used by "environmental folks" and "internationalists."Though Barr's Web page says scientists haven't yet made "definitive judgments" on the issue of climate change, he still advocates lowering carbon emissions through a process led by the private sector rather than the government.

Ralph Nader

Ralph Nader promotes an energy policy that would stop subsidizing oil, coal and nuclear interests. His plan invests in fuel-efficient automobiles, and renewable energy such as wind and solar.Nader envisions a "new clean energy paradigm" that would create more jobs, better efficiency and security, and more protection for the environment.According to his Web page, he applauds a ten-point plan by the "Apollo Alliance," which calls for a $313.72 billion federal investment in energy independence in a ten-year period. While calling on the United States to take the lead in technological innovation, the plan directs energy consumption away from fossil fuels towards domestic renewable energy markets. The points of the plan include investing in more efficient factories, encouraging "green buildings," modernizing electrical infrastructure, expanding renewable energy development, improving transportation options and promoting advanced technology and hybrid cars.Through tax revenues and energy cost savings, the plan will supposedly pay for itself. It is predicted that the overall economy will see an "increase of $1.4 trillion dollars in new Gross Domestic Product."Nader is also in favor of adopting a carbon pollution tax.

Cynthia McKinney

According to McKinney, the United States can "no longer hide its truculence under the mask of weather fluctuations or unclear science." She believes that as islands are disappearing and indigenous ways of life are threatened, the world is at risk if the United States "continues to do nothing."Therefore, she proposes that a drastic cut in emissions is necessary and can "be accomplished by using the tax code to incentivize behavior."According to McKinney, the United States could declare itself carbon and nuclear free as the next step is "to create the political will to change course."

Charles Baldwin

According to Baldwin, there is no reason for the United States to be dependent on OPEC. He believes there is enough gas and oil present under the soil of Alaska, North and South Dakota and the Gulf of Mexico "to meet the energy needs of the United States for the next 150 to 200 years."Baldwin also believes there is no reason for gasoline to cost more than $1.50 a gallon while the country is less dependent on foreign sources of oil.

Read the Pickens Plan Pledge below and then tell your Member of Congress to join with T. Boone Pickens and his army of supporters in calling for an Energy Independence Plan to be enacted within the first 100 days of the new administration.

United We Stand, Divided We Fail - Won't You Join Me?

We can't wait - the time to address these problems is now. I hope you'll signal your agreement by signing onto the Divided We Fail pledge today. If you have already agreed to support the Divided We Fail goals, I hope you'll urge your colleagues to do the same. If you want to learn more about this important effort, visit http://www.dividedwefail.org/.
Thank you for your time and efforts. I look forward to hearing from you in regard to Divided We Fail and whether or not you have signed the Congressional Pledge.
Understand the problem. See the solution. Insist that your government gets the message and just does it. It really is that simple. See our site and white paper at http://www.usenergyindependence.com/ and http://www.americanenergyindependence.com/
I believe that our elected officials have the political resolve to pass a comprehensive energy independence legislation bill before the 2008 elections. But will they take the high road and set aside their political differences in a joint bipartisan effort to do what all Americans deserve from their elected officials? Americans are facing some of the most important economic and energy issues in the history of our country. We need to contact our elected officials and tell them that we want a united effort from them to come together and resolve their differences. Our founding fathers had their different political views and they helped create a government of the people by the people, the greatest nation on earth the United States of America! It's up to the 300 plus million people of America to take our government back from those 545 elected officials and fix our current economic situation!

First there are the environmental effects. Second there is the moral imperative to do what is right for humanity. But, beyond all that, how does it strike home to You, Now ? Everything that Exists, Depends Totally on Energy.

That is the real point. People run on energy, from their food. They die without it. Birds, Animals, Fish, and all other living things run on energy. Farms run on energy. Tractors use fuel. Fertilizer needs energy to make it. Transportation systems run on energy. Businesses run on energy. Homes run on energy. Everything runs on energy ! So What Happens if there isn’t enough ? It is simple. First we give things up. We go without. Our quality of life declines. You don’t buy things, because you spent your money on gasoline, heating oil, and electricity. No new jeans. No trip to Disneyworld. Hamburger instead of steak. Those are the things that happen first. Then it gets worse.

You can’t drive your car. You have to move into a smaller house near the city and take mass transit. You have to be colder in the winter. You have to be hot in the summer. You have to turn the lights off. The poorer people suffer much more. They have inadequate food. No heat. They freeze to death or suffer heat stroke. Huge numbers of jobs are lost. Businesses fail by the hundreds. Then it gets catastrophic. We go to war with whomever, to take their energy. Hundreds of thousands die in a futile effort. Millions die of starvation and disease. The veneer of civilization is stripped away and it is dog eat dog.

Why can’t we just do the simple things; use Bio-diesel, Conserve, Switch to Compact Fluorescent Lights, Hydrogen, and all that ? Its simple again. There is not enough farmland to grow enough crops for ethanol and Bio Diesel sufficient in quantity to make up for all the fossil fuels used just in transportation, not to mention all the other uses. We need food first, and most of the farmland has to be used for that. We can conserve, but each day more people are born. This increases the need. The need increases faster than conservation can save. And besides, once the fossil fuel is gone, its gone. It does not matter how many miles per gallon the car gets if there is no gasoline. Hydrogen is not an energy source. On the contrary, to free up hydrogen atoms into the form needed for fuel, we must use energy first. No energy available to make hydrogen? Then there is no hydrogen fuel.

So are We Doomed ? No. There is more than enough renewable energy potentially available to meet our total needs thousands of times over. And it won’t run out. Ever. So we do the things outlined in our white paper, and life improves immeasurably. Millions of new jobs are created. Wealth increases dramatically. The climate is saved. People prosper. Security is enhanced. War is averted. No one has to die fighting for oil. So read the white paper. Understand the problem. See the solution. Insist that your government gets the message and just does it. It really is that simple. See our site and white paper at http://www.usenergyindependence.com/.

The MEG Generator is an electromagnetic device without moving parts, which includes a permanent magnet and a magnetic core. The core includes two circuits (magnetic paths) which are alternatively pulsed in order to provide induced current pulses in the output coils. Driving electrical current through each of the input coils reduces a level of flux from the permanent magnet within the magnet path around which the input coil extends. The pulsing is critical, in accessing the Zero-Point Energy, and in using The Fifth Element aspect of repeatedly getting into the system for energy extraction and out again before it has to pay the energy conservation price.

The inventors -- which include Thomas E. Bearden -- claim a coefficient of performance (C.O.P.) of five or more. This C.O.P. is effectively an efficiency, but one which is allowed to exceed unity. (The idea of a C.O.P. was originally developed for use with heat pumps, which yield energy in the form of heat which is several times that of the electrical energy input -- but where the additional energy is acknowledged to come from the earth’s heat.)

The MEG Generator has received a great deal of Inter Net publicity, but precious little from the mainstream media. The paper on the device has appeared on numerous websites, only to be removed. Currently, the only available access is via the Naudin website which provides a convenient link http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/meg.htm to “The MEG paper : Extracting Energy from a Permanent Magnet with Energy-Replenishing from the Active Vacuum”, http://www.cheniere.org/, by Thomas E. Bearden, et al.

Meanwhile, from: , Bearden is quoted as saying: “Heaviside and Poynting independently and simultaneously discovered ElectroMagnetic (EM) energy flow, in the 1880s after Maxwell was deceased. It is known that, from the terminals of a generator (from the source dipolarity, once created), there pours out a continuous stream of EM energy flow, filling all space around the conductors of the external circuit. Poynting's theory considered only that component of this external energy flow that is intercepted by the external circuit and diverged into the conductors to power [the circuit].

“Heaviside, on the other hand, included not only that ‘caught’ component, but also included the remaining component that is not intercepted by the external circuit, but misses it and is wasted. The wasted energy flow is orders of magnitude greater than the energy flow caught. However, this meant that from every generator there already pours out far more EM energy than the amount of mechanical shaft energy input to the generator --- and that is indeed true. Since no one could explain what could possibly be furnishing such a torrent of excess energy, obviously there was a bit of a problem with the law of energy conservation as it was understood at the time.

“Since then, the broken symmetry of opposite charges --- such as the opposite charges on the ends of the source dipole, once formed between the generator terminals --- has been proven in particle physics. In short, now it is known (in particle physics, not electrical engineering) that the source dipole, once formed, continually absorbs virtual photons from the seething vacuum [the Zero-Point Energy], transduces (coherently integrates) it into real observable photons, and pours out that torrent of real, observable photon energy streaming from those generator terminals. This is the solution to the problem that so puzzled Heaviside and so vexed Lorentz, goading him into creating a neat little trick to get rid of the problem itself.

“Unable to solve the problem of the source of that enormous EM energy flow from the terminals of every generator or battery, H.A. Lorentz, who understood the work of both Heaviside and Poynting, reasoned that the excess nondiverged Heaviside energy flow component had "no physical significance" since it did not power anything. So Lorentz integrated the energy flow vector around a closed surface assumed around any volume element of interest.

“This little trick arbitrarily and neatly disposed of all accountability of the bothersome Heaviside component, while retaining and accounting the Poynting energy flow component. All EM textbooks and electrical engineering to this day repeat Lorentz's integration trick, and dutifully (and arbitrarily) dismiss that Heaviside component. It is still present in every field/charge reaction and outside every electrical circuit, since the Bohren experiment proves its existence, and is readily replicated at any proper university laboratory.

“So the irony is that electrodynamics and electrical engineering -- as they are still being taught in university --- arbitrarily dismiss this very large nondiverged, nonreacting component of EM energy surrounding every field/particle reaction. Even the EM fields are misdefined in terms of what is diverged or wrenched out of them -- a gross non sequitur. My point is that every EM interaction involves far greater EM energy than is presently accounted for, since Lorentz discarded that huge Heaviside non-diverged component.”
Basically, the MEG Generator allegedly captures this Heaviside component.
This free energy device was patented on March 26, 2002 (US Patent Number 6,362,718 -- which can be verified at http://www.uspto.gov/patft/index.html. mailto:wmorgan@nycap.rr.com reports that production should begin in 2003. Morgan goes on to write an excellent description of this extremely newsworthy event. His e-mail message has received is given below:

“A patent was granted on March 26, 2002 for "The Motionless Magnetic Generator," MEG) US Patent 6,362,718, which is likely to become the first commercially available free energy device in history in about one year from now. The machine will provide free electricity from the vacuum, for the life of the device, which should be a very long life since it has no moving parts. You can see a picture of scientist Jean-Pierre Naudin's MEG replication model at: http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/meg.htm.

It has strong magnets, coils, and a controller unit with the electronics. Naudin made the announcement to the MEG-builder's Yahoo group. The announcement has significance since the patent office has always been skeptical of devices which seem to ‘get-something-for-nothing.’ But according to the new science of scalar electromagnetics, the MEG doesnot break the law of conservation of energy. It's just that the energy is conserved in the fourth dimension, time, and not our 3-space world.

The MEG provides electrical energy by tapping the longitudinal electromagnetic (EM) waves which exist in almost infinite abundance in the vacuum of space. This ocean of energy which permeates everything is sometimes called the ‘zero point’ energy, since it remains there even at absolute zero temperature.
Four inventors are listed: Stephen L. Patrick, Thomas E. Bearden, James C. Hayes, Kenneth D. Moore.

Tom Bearden has explained the operation of the MEG http://www.cheniere.org/, and also speaks about the new fearful weapons that can and have been made using the same ‘longitudinal waves’ of the vacuum.

The complicated physics of how the MEG works is explained in the Paper ‘The Motionless Electromagnetic Generator: Extracting Energy from a Permanent Magnet with Energy Replenishment from the Active Vacuum,’ which can be found at Tom Bearden's website; http://www.help4all.de/energy/MEGpaper.pdf.”
[Currently, http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/meg.htm is the only place where the paper can still be accessed. But this accessibility continues to be in a state of flux.]

“The first MEG units to be produced for sale will output 2.5 kilowatts of free electricity. Forever. They should be in production about a year from now. Facilities for manufacturing the device are being set up in an unnamed ‘friendly nation.’

This free electricity will flow indefinitely, without much, or any maintenance. The units may be hooked together to provide more wattage, so four of them would provide 10 kilowatts. After some production experience units will be made which output 10 kilowatts each. With a couple of those units a house could get off the electrical grid.

Tom Bearden, one of the inventors has said, ‘I will admit that the chief scientist of an important experimental group in a large company was rather stunned at the type of output we were able to obtain. The MEG may look like just a transformer, but it is not. It is a completely different breed of cat.’ This cat, it would seem, is out of the bag now. The ordinary EM waves we are familiar with are called ‘transverse’ waves, to distinguish them from the new ‘longitudinal’ EM waves of the vacuum.

Bearden has explained in depth on his website cheniere.org that wherever there is a dipole (battery, generator, magnet) there is an unseen flow of longitudinal EM waves in that local vacuum, the only problem is in tapping that energy and ‘transducing’ it to electricity. Bearden says that the problem with all the electrical circuits we have is that they are two-wire circuits, a loop by which half the energy goes back to destroy the dipole. In the MEG that closed loop is never made. So the dipole is not being destroyed.

Patents are not granted on devices which do not work, so in a sense this announcement proclaims a new era. The MEG device itself proclaims and proves that energy is abundantly available everywhere, for free. We only have to build the devices to tap it. MEG type devices could be put into a car with an electric engine to make a truly fuel-less automobile. Electricity can be available in very remote places. People will be able to get off our very terrorist-vulnerable power grids. In an era of terrorism a highly dispersed power system would be most desirable rather than our centralized systems.

What is somewhat astonishing to me is the discovery by Bearden et. al. that Time itself is actually compressed energy, and that this free energy is actually coming from the time domain, the ocean of longitudinal EM waves which fill the empty vacuum of spacetime. In fact, time is energy compressed by the same factor that matter is compressed energy: the speed-of-light squared. Thus there is a new companion to Einstein's E=mc2. Can you say ‘E equals delta-tee-cee-squared?’ The ‘tee’ is time and delta-tee is change in time.

A company has been set up to manufacture the MEG called Magnetic Energy Limited.
The New Energy Ramifications are enormous. The oil wars are not necessary. If we threw as much money at this technology as we are spending on the oil wars we would be free of the need for oil in less than a decade. With fuel-less cars air pollution will be greatly lessened. Third world nations can raise their standard of living eventually. And the energy is free. And it never runs out.
http://www.prahlad.org/pub/bearden/scalar_wars.htm is a "Bearden for Beginners" article which explains some of the basic concepts of the current state of scalar technology.
The granting of the MEG patent is the herald of the new era of Scalar Electromagnetics, and the free energy which flows forever and never runs out.”

Automotive Initiatives for a Cleaner Planet?
I reference a couple of points here that could lead to an entirely new paradigm concerning automotive design. - It is indicated that several times in history water has been found to be a satisfactory source of power through efficient extraction of its component gases. See, for example, www.waterfuelmuseum.org Do not consider this mere rumour, Genepax in Japan are indeed experimenting with a water-powered fuel cell vehicle. - The inefficiencies of current automotive design and, until recently,… Continue

Tidal Energy
In a recent Slashdot article (see link) researches in the UK have developed a way to generate electricity from the tidal motion using a snake-like device dubbed "Anaconda." Initial tests have proved its feasibility, and are looking to produce a full scale "Anaconda" measuring 7m in diameter and reaching a length of 200m. They would be deployed in water 40-100m deep and generate a fairly impressing 1MW (enough to power app… Continue

Green, Kansas
A wind farm to light and power the city. There is a cable channel that is devoted to "Green" and is showing professionl guidence to the town leadership in rebuilding "Green" after the tornado wiped out the town. Would be excellent way for people to see what wind power can provide for, Green, Kansas, and maybe their town.
